Play with your Print Ads

Print is the medium which looks stiff at first sight. One would think that you can have only static print advertisements which speak about out your product or services through words and visuals. Think again. Print medium is as interactive as any other medium if you know how to turn your ideas/USP into creativity. Print medium can visually and verbally reach your audience. You can improvise either on the style of the content or the effectiveness of the visual. But that’s not all. You can play with your paper. That’s right.  Your medium itself can be moulded into a message with the help of creativity and out-of-the-box thinking. Don’t stop with just an idea. Innovate. Build on your base idea till you get something that has been tried never before. The objective of your print ad is to get the attention of the reader, so think how well you can do that. Some print ads not only attract the attention but also retain them and prompt the reader to go through it time and again.

Here is an example:

This is the magazine ad of Land Rover. They have taken their tagline “Go Beyond” way beyond ordinary imagination. Creatively done, the paper has been put to use as the message.

Tips For Effective Printing (Print Ads and Brochures)

The previous article gave you tips on selecting appropriate images for your brochure and print ads. Let us now discuss the small things one must consider before printing your final brochure or print ad.

Computer colour and printer colour: Your computer displays colours on the basis of the three main colours and its combinations. RGB – Red, Green and Blue are the primary colours of light and all the other colours can be created by mixing the three in different combinations. Because the colours you see on your monitor are light rays, this format will function perfectly, but when it comes to printing, the primary colours are a little different. Usually, magenta, cyan and yellow are the primary colours for paint, but printers use a CYMK – Cyan, Yellow, Magenta and Black. So when you try to take a print of your RGB format brochure or print ads, the colour may vary a little. To avoid this, it is always better to save the document in CMYK format.

The reason why CMYK printer is preferred over a usual inkjet printer or colour photocopier, this will reproduce the images in the maximum originality with complete detailing and accuracy giving your brochure or print ad the perfect look. This is available at the commercial printing press. A good brochure designing company will know what is best for your brochure or print ads and also might be able to help you with the printing as they have contacts with expert commercial printing companies. This will also save you on your expenditure.
