Apple Logo Evolution
Jun 24th
Apple logo is one of the most recognized logo in the world. Just type ‘apple’ in Google search and the first thing that pops up would be the logo of the corporate giant. As a matter of fact, the very first logo of the company was not just an apple. The first logo of apple told the whole story of Newton’s moment of enlightenment. Designed in 1976 by Ronald Wayne, this logo lasted only a year. The company realized a serious need for a logo make over to improve their corporate identity and the ‘Apple’ logo was born. Adorned with different shades, the second logo of Apple, designed by Rob Janoff was the image of a multi coloured apple with a bite on it (which was purposely added to the apple so that people would not mistake it as a tomato).
Later, the company found out that the multicolour in their logo was too childish for their product and unsuitable for their brand image, so they decided to go monochrome. The final (latest) logo allowed much more flexibility to the brand. The new logo enhanced their brand image and brought better recognition to the company.
The new monochrome logo is not expected to undergo a change anytime soon, but the shape of the logo is going to remain the same for a very long period of time.
The logo is a vital part of corporate identity and image, to have the right kind of logo that speaks about the product and brand personality is essential.

LOGO LEGENDS
Jun 17th
In the ocean of business, brands come and go like waves on the sea shore. But it takes more than just the design and color which make a logo design stand out for years together. Here are a few brands which have stood for ages. These logos have hardly ever changed their logos. But have still managed to capture the attention of everyone from every walk of life.
Did you know that the Coca-Cola logo was developed by a pharmacist in the late 1880’s. Even though Coke’s product packaging design had seen several revamps but the alterations with respect to the logo have been negligible. This is the secret behind this legendary beverage brand.
General Electric is another example which has been on logo wall of fame. It is nearly a century old, but its elements and fonts have always been constant for a very long time. The most significant amendment in the GE logo was the adding of a blue scheme to the background in 2004.
The New York Times is one among the oldest and popular newspaper in the world. The font based logo was created in 1850’s. Within a period of 160 years the logo has witnessed negligible changes where the name had been changed to “The New York Times” from “New York Times”, although the style of the font has been consistent.
